Why does this ignore sand, gravel, and price?
Base depth, compaction, and permits depend on soil, use, and the jurisdiction. Those are not a rectangle times a default. This tool counts surface pieces from coverage you can check on the product sheet. Ask the contractor for the base specification and a written price.
What waste percent should I use?
Straight runs with few cuts often need less extra material than diagonal patterns, circles, or mixed sizes. Enter the allowance the supplier or installer recommends for that pattern. Do not copy a rounded square-foot figure that under-counts pieces.
Can I mix several paver sizes?
Yes. Add each size as its own footprint share, or enter the installed coverage printed on each pack. Mixed patterns should still use the manufacturer coverage, not a guessed average.
