Coastal or partially shaded (La Jolla, Encinitas, Carlsbad): St. Augustine Palmetto or a tall fescue blend. Low water, low traffic: Zoysia or Native Blend. We walk the yard and pick based on where the sun actually lands.

Light foot traffic at 2 weeks. Normal use at 4 weeks. First mow at 2-3 weeks once roots anchor, tug a corner, if it resists, mow. Keep pets off for the first 10 days if possible.

Heavy, daily, first 10 days, enough to keep the sod and first 2" of soil wet. Cut back to every other day week 2, then standard 3x/week through rooting. We program your controller and leave a written schedule. Overwatering after week 3 causes fungus, we tell you when to step down.
